High School English Teacher in the Middle East

Responsibilities
  • Teaching English & Literature
    • Deliver 20-25 English lessons per week, focusing on advanced reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
    • Guide students in analyzing and interpreting literary works, including novels, poetry, plays, and essays.
    • Teach critical thinking and analytical writing skills through discussions, essays, and research projects.
    • Utilize creative and engaging teaching methods to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of literature.
    • Design lesson plans that challenge and support students of varying skill levels.
  • Classroom Management
    • Establish a structured, respectful, and engaging learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity.
    • Set and enforce clear expectations to promote a positive and focused classroom atmosphere.
    • Encourage open discussions and debates to enhance students’ communication and reasoning skills.
  • Collaboration & Professional Development
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop cross-curricular connections and enhance instructional strategies.
    • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide initiatives.
    • Stay updated on best practices in teaching English and literature by attending workshops and training programs.
    • Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet the evolving needs of students.
  • Monitoring Student Progress
    • Assess student comprehension and analytical skills through exams, essays, presentations, and discussions.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth in writing and literary analysis.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents regarding academic performance.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as assemblies, lunch, or study hall, as needed.
    • Support school events, extracurricular activities, and student initiatives.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the administration to contribute to the overall success of the school.
