Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or SOE from an ACP
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Knowledge of the core academic subject
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behaviour
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Student teaching or related experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans reflecting district curriculum and accommodations for individual differences.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials aligned with TEA guidelines and administrative regulations.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to determine goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and supervise instructional aides and volunteers.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Be a positive role model and support the district's mission.
• Create a conducive classroom environment and manage student behaviour per the code of conduct.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities; manage records and reports.
• Establish professional communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
• Participate in staff development and comply with regulations; attend meetings and serve on committees.
• Follow district safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
