Job summary

Mount Pulaski CUSD #23 is seeking a dedicated English Language Arts teacher for the 2027-2028 school year at Mount Pulaski High School. The successful candidate will plan and deliver standards-based, high school ELA instruction aligned to Illinois Learning Standards, fostering critical thinking and effective communication.

Required is an Illinois PEL with high school English endorsement and a Bachelor's in English or related field. New graduates welcome.

Qualifications

• Illinois PEL with high school English endorsement.
• Bachelor's degree in English or related field.
• Strong knowledge of secondary English Language Arts curriculum and assessment.
• Effective classroom management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based, high school ELA instruction.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with Illinois standards and district curriculum.

• Foster an inclusive classroom environment promoting critical thinking and collaboration.
• Integrate technology and communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
• Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives.
• Fulfill duties as assigned by administration or contract.
