Job summary

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 is seeking a Diverse Learner High School Coordinator to oversee special education supports for elementary and middle schools.

You will coordinate procedures, reports, and policy, provide instructional leadership and professional development, and supervise IEP-related activities. Collaborate with district leadership to implement programs, monitor practices, and coach staff to meet state standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Illinois Professional Educators License, Grade 9-12.
• Must have LBS I and General Administrative Endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, evaluate, and supervise special education programs within assigned locations and programs in cooperation with High School Administration.
• Provide instructional leadership including monitoring instructional practices, providing professional development and coaching individual teachers as necessary.
• Oversee the IEP process including attending IEP meetings as necessary, providing technical support for the development of IEPs and coordinating attendance of required IEP participants.
• Collaborate with Principals and Assistant Principals regarding disciplinary matters for students with disabilities, as needed.
• Train teaching staff on the usage of the computerized IEP system and ensure that special education data is recorded and reported accurately.
• Assist with the development of the high school master schedule.
• Ensure compliance with District policies and procedures and provide oversight in assignment of teachers and educational assistants.
