Job summary

Maranatha High School in Pasadena, CA is seeking an experienced teacher to deliver course content, guide student learning and assess achievement. You will create lessons, maintain curriculum guides and communicate progress to parents, with a focus on Christian values in a college-preparatory setting.

The role requires a 10-month, exempt schedule, with work hours 7:30am-4:30pm and some evenings and weekends. A 4-year degree is required and a teaching credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required in the subject area.
• Master’s degree and/or teaching credential are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess student achievement and mastery of content.
• Create lesson plans and course syllabus.
• Facilitate a positive and productive learning environment.
• Provide instruction of applicable course content.
• Provide substantial opportunities for student achievement.
• Responsible for student grading/evaluation within timeline and deadlines set by Administration.
• Update and maintain curriculum guides for all courses assigned.
• Communicate effectively and regularly with parents or guardians about student progress.
• Respond to email in a timely manner and be available for regular conference periods to assist parents and students as needed.
• Adhere to MHS policies and guidelines; attend required meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personal and organizational information.
