Job summary

Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, VA is seeking a part-time Cross Country Assistant Coach to support the head coach and develop a classroom-ready program for the fall season.

The role focuses on teamwork, safety training, and supervising student-athletes during practices and meets from August through November, with duties including equipment readiness, discipline support, and fostering school pride and sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience or participation in the sport at high school or college levels.
• CPR and First Aid training completed or enrolled in current course.
• Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Prefer a Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the head athletic coach to operate a well-structured program.
• Work cooperatively with the athletic department.
• Attend all staff meetings prescribed by the head athletic coach during the season.
• Carry out specific duties designated by the head athletic coach.
• Recommend equipment and supplies needed for implementing a sports program.
• Recommend disciplinary actions regarding players violating training rules and procedures.
• Foster among athletes a desire to win, sportsmanship, pride for school and community.
• Perform other duties related to assistant athletic coach as requested by the principal and/or athletic director.
