Job summary

Mukilteo School District is seeking a 0.5 FTE Assistant Cross Country Coach for the 2026-2027 season at Mariner High School in Everett, WA. Anticipated dates are August 24, 2026 through November 7, 2026, with after-school and weekend coaching alongside the head coach.

Running experience is required; coaching experience is preferred. Stipends are contingent on district approval of extracurricular activities for the 26-27 year and seasonal/season length.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or its equivalent.
Formal training in the specific sport including CPR/first aid.
Must be 19 years of age per WIAA regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide age and skill-appropriate training and instruction to develop skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and self-esteem.
Teach rules and safety and provide guidance to students’ physical, social and emotional development.
Promote multi-sport participation in a positive manner.
Supervise student behavior and maintain discipline per WIAA and district policies.
Assist in scheduling practices, games, meetings, and related transportation logistics.
Ensure student safety and provide first aid or refer as needed.
Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, coaches and staff.
Attend meetings, clinics and workshops; fulfill other duties as assigned.
