Job summary

187 days of instructional time with potential for distance/virtual components as part of online learning. Required: Bachelor's degree and valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or related training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of subjects assigned
• General knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning
• Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
• Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for diverse learning styles
• Present content per TEA guidelines and district policies
• Use varied instructional strategies and technology to engage students
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with special education to modify curricula as needed (IEP)
• Plan and supervise teacher aide and volunteers
• Provide timely feedback and track student progress
• Conduct ongoing assessment and report outcomes
• Support extracurricular activities as assigned
• Be a positive role model and uphold district mission
• Create an in-person and online classroom conducive to learning
• Manage student behavior per Code of Conduct
• Ensure safety of students and materials
• Assist in selecting instructional materials and equipment
• Communicate with students/parents via phone, email, or video
• Maintain professional relationships with staff and community
• Participate in staff development and comply with regulations
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees
