Job summary

LEAD Public Schools in Nashville, TN is seeking a High School Chemistry Teacher to design rigorous lessons and help students meet Tennessee standards. A valid Tennessee teaching license or transfer within 90 days is required, along with a Bachelor's degree.

Two years of teaching experience are preferred. Salary range is $55,000 to $100,000 annually with a performance-based pay plan, comprehensive benefits, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate content endorsement to teach Chemistry, or a valid out-of-state license that can be transferred to Tennessee within 90 days, or on track to certification in Tennessee.
• Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred, but not required.
• Experience with diverse student populations or urban settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement rigorous unit plans and lessons aligned to standards with clear objectives and assessments.
• Participate in bi-weekly coaching meetings to internalize content, teaching moves, and classroom management.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, content teams, and professional development throughout the year.
• Execute school-based duties such as student conferences, arrival/dismissal, transitions, lunch duty, and other assignments from leadership.
