Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a High School Cheerleader Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The assistant coach will support the head coach and work under the supervision of the Athletic Director to implement plans, ensure safety, and coordinate practices and activities with students, staff, and parents.

The position requires ASEP certification, current district teaching staff status, and solid knowledge of coaching methods and training techniques.

Qualifications

• Must have ASEP certification and be a member of the district teaching staff.
• Solid fundamentals of coaching methods and training techniques.
• Able to work under Athletic Director supervision and coordinate staff and players.

Responsibilities

• Remains up to date on new ideas via professional growth or clinics.
• Formulates plans for the season with the Athletic Director.
• Ensures safety of participants and adherence to rules.
• Coordinate pre-season planning, practices, and logistics.
• Provide out-of-season programs within policy guidelines.
• Promote teamwork and good sportsmanship year-round.
