Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach to perform on- and off-season duties for the athletic program under the Director of Athletics. Candidates should hold a teaching certificate or ASEP certification, pass required background checks and drug tests, and demonstrate knowledge of the sport's fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Must possess a teaching certificate or ASEP certified.
• Pass ACUSD #11 background check and drug test.
• Complete all forms for employment.
• Be competent and understand the basic skills of the individual sport.

Responsibilities

• Preseason: Size and order uniforms and equipment; distribute uniforms and orders; plan, organize and coach summer practices.
• Tryouts: Post information at the high school; hold informational meetings for parents and participants; keep track of applications, recommendations and forms; set up and manage tryouts.
• Season: Follow district guidelines; hold parent meetings; order buses; ensure travel forms are complete; manage practices and rosters; ensure IHSA eligibility.
• Post-Season: Collect, wash, repair and store uniforms; submit inventory and finalize administrative tasks.
