Job summary

Western Alamance High in Elon, North Carolina seeks an Athletic Coach (Basketball) to lead the program for the sport season. The role reports to the Athletic Director & Principal, supervises no staff, and requires commitment to safe practices and student-athlete development.

Evening/weekend duties accompany weekday practices as scheduled. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma and training in physical education or the sport, plus knowledge of athletic policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Training in Physical Education or particular sport.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement, interpret and enforce existing school system, state and conference regulations.
• Attend required meetings and training sessions.
• Establish and teach fundamentals, skills and safety for the sport.
• Supervise staff and volunteers, delegate duties, and evaluate assistant coaches.
• Maintain discipline and contribute to program budgeting and facility management.
• Coordinate practices, transportation, and game/event scheduling with the Athletic Director and Principal.
• Ensure proper documentation for injuries, medical attention, and eligible participation.
