Job summary

Centennial High School in Portland, Oregon is hiring an Athletic Trainer (8 hours per day) to join the athletic health care team. The role provides specialized athletic training services to student athletes in consultation with a licensed physician, including prevention, initial assessment, and treatment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field and one year of progressively responsible athletic training experience in a high school or collegiate setting; OR Master’s degree in related field with BOC certification.
• BOC Athletic Trainer certification and Oregon registration.
• Experience with emergency care, injury evaluation and rehabilitation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and maintains Emergency Action Plans for practice and game locations.
• Conducts initial injury/illness assessments and creates treatment plans.
• Advises coaches on conditioning, equipment, and injury prevention.
• Attends multisport contests and practices; monitors athletes to prevent injury.
• Provides emergency care, first aid, and triage as needed.
• Maintains confidential student documentation and training records.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field
