Job summary

Southern Orthopedic Specialists seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer to deliver athletic training and sports medicine services to student-athletes at assigned Bay District Schools high schools, coordinating with SOS physicians and staff.

The AT will evaluate injuries, provide treatment and rehabilitation, ensure proper documentation, and maintain equipment and facilities per SOS policies and state law. Flexible hours and on-site coverage are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training from an accredited program.
• BOC certification is required for athletic trainers.
• Current Florida Athletic Trainer license or ability to obtain.
• CPR/AED certification appropriate for the position.
• Ability to meet background screening and school-access requirements.
• Knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, emergency care, and return-to-play principles.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the athletic training room at the assigned school per SOS policies and legal requirements.
• Evaluate student-athletes with acute or chronic injuries within AT scope and provide immediate care.
• Develop and implement treatment and rehabilitation plans within established protocols.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment as clinically indicated.
• Provide injury-prevention services and facilitate return-to-play under medical direction.
• Maintain documentation and coordinate with SOS physicians and other healthcare providers.
