Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NATA Board Certification and SCDHEC Certification required.
• Experience in athletic training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops plans for athletic trainer coverage at activities and schedules with athletic director.
• Sets daily hours for the athletic training room.
• Provides evaluation and immediate care of injuries; refers to medical facilities when needed.
• Designs rehab programs under physician direction and supervises rehabilitation.
• Develops emergency plans for facilities and prevents injuries with protective measures.
• Advises coaches on conditioning to prevent injuries and improve performance.
• Maintains medical records for injuries and rehab procedures.
• Complies with district health care policies; supervises student aides and liaises with physicians, coaches, athletes, and parents.
• Counsels athletes on health topics including nutrition and substance use.
