Job Description

Job Title: Athletic Trainer
Supervisor: Athletic Director
Terms of Employment: 220 days

Job Summary: The individual is responsible for the prevention, care, rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and the administration of all facets of the athletic training room and program.

Essential Duties

• Establish standard procedures for first aid and emergency care of athletes during practice and games.
• Coordinate the supervision and rehabilitation of injured athletes.
• Establish recommendations and provisions of appropriate training and conditioning procedures.
• Establish and supervise a student-teacher trainer program.
• Establish and supervise the operation of a well-equipped training room.
• Coordinate the acquisition of appropriate consent forms.
• Establish procedures for physical examination for all participants.

Other Duties

Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required)

• Completion of an approved Athletic Training Education Program.
• Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer by BOC.(PLEASE ATTACHA VALID/UNEXPIRED BOC CERTIFICATE.)
• State of South Carolina Certification as an Athletic Trainer through DHEC.
• Ability to work effectively with people.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
