Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a dedicated High School Assistant Coach for the Varsity Boys Soccer team to support our athletic program. The successful candidate will help student-athletes grow on and off the field through skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include managing the soccer program with the Varsity Head Coach, teaching skills, and promoting a safe and inclusive environment. The position is part-time with a salary of $5,127 per season.

Qualifications

• Completion of all required OSAA and District trainings prior to season start.
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.

Overview

North Marion School District is seeking a positive and student‑centered Assistant Varsity Coach for Boys Soccer to support our high‑school athletic program. Assistant Coaches help student‑athletes grow on and off the field through skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and character.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with management and oversight of the high‑school soccer program under the Varsity Head Coach.
• Teach sport‑specific skills, strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Serve as a positive role model for student‑athletes.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and administration.
• Support student‑athlete growth, accountability, and academic success.
• Comply with all North Marion School District and OSAA rules, policies, and expectations.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Required Qualifications

• NFHS/ASEP certification required.

• Successful background and criminal history clearance prior to interaction with students.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience.
• Bilingual Spanish skills.
