Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a sports program.

Job Goal

To instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for individual and team success, while demonstrating behaviors that promote socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self‑confidence and pride of accomplishment. To upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations and consultation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of all athletic policies approved by the School District of Bayfield's Board and implements them.
• Knows existing systems, state and league regulations; consistently applies and interprets them for students.

Student Responsibilities

• Mentors each athlete, promoting trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Monitors student athletes' grades and conduct.
• Provides assistance, guidance and safeguards at all practices, games and travel.
• Communicates training rules and sport regulations to each participant.
• Initiates programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
