Overview

High School Assistant Academic Administrator directs and coordinates educational, administrative and counseling activities of high school students by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This is a virtual, Stride K12 partner role at Pine Springs Preparatory Virtual Academy (PSPVA).

Essential Functions
  • Ensures conformance of educational programs to state and local standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities; researches and implements non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards.
  • Articulates the school’s mission and vision so all stakeholders understand and collaborate to achieve results; utilizes communication technologies suited to a predominantly virtual/remote environment.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education and other programs (e.g., Title I, LAP, CTE) to meet student needs.
  • Interfaces with students, families, local Municipal Court systems, and local districts regarding attendance and engagement as defined by school policy and student handbook expectations.
  • Develops and oversees implementation of the school’s Student Achievement Improvement Plan.
  • Supervises and evaluates teaching staff; manages teacher performance, and provides training to support professional development; oversees Master and Lead Teachers and related programs.
  • Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral issues; coordinates with teacher and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 15-30 full-time equivalent employees and/or contractors. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, directing work, performance appraisals, and addressing employee concerns in accordance with policies and applicable laws.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Previous Supervisory Experience
  • Master’s degree AND
  • Five (5) years of educational experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to clear required background check
Other Required Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, etc.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an online Educator
  • Previous administrative experience
Compensation & Benefits

Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location and travel requirements, when determining salary. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range depending on factors such as level and expected contribution.
