Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid interpreter’s license issued by the Arkansas Department of Health.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; and
• Hold at least a 3.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA); or Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) 3/3 (transliterating /interpreting).

Responsibilities

• Interpret oral communication into sign language in classes.
• Facilitate communication among students, classroom teachers, and other personnel in the school district.
• Convey the content of the message clearly and accurately according to the receptive language level of the student.
