Job summary

Momence Community Unit School District #1 is seeking an Agriculture Teacher for high school and junior high (grades 7-12). This full-time position covers maternity leave from January to March, with an immediate starting date.

The teacher will deliver the agriculture curriculum, engage students, and collaborate with staff to maintain high instructional standards. Qualifications include a valid Illinois State PEL in High School or Illinois Substitute license (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois State Professional Educator License (HS) or Illinois Substitute license or ability to obtain one.
• Able to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Teach six sections of agriculture to varying levels of students.
• Attend professional development and training related to teaching assignments.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments.
• Use technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration.
• Implement instructional activities that engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources for diverse learners.
• Assist in assessing curricular needs and propose improvements.
• Provide a positive environment encouraging active student engagement.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Organize, develop and coordinate special culinary events/activities.
• Keep accurate records and deliver timely reports.
• Participate in student team meetings and collaborative staff meetings.
• Maintain inventories and manage purchasing requests for supplies.
