Stamford Health's Women’s Specialty Center in Stamford, CT is seeking a full-time ARDMS Ob/Gyn certified sonographer with High Risk/MFM experience. The role covers prenatal diagnosis, gynecologic evaluations, and active labor coverage while collaborating with Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Genetics, and nurses.

You will teach Ob/Gyn residents and medical students, participate in protocol development and research, and ensure equipment safety.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years clinical experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine preferred.
• Ability to perform complete gynecologic and obstetric scans with physician available for immediate review.
• Ability to assist in CVS, amniocentesis, and sonohysterogram procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the Director in teaching sonography students and residents.
• Utilizes research methods to advance ultrasound practice.
• Assists with protocol creation and data collection for new projects.
• Evaluates functions and safety of sonography equipment.
• Keeps current on ultrasound events and attends workshops.

Major Accountabilities/Critical Responsibilities

• Participates with the Director in the training and education of sonography students, registered nurses, and Residents.
• Utilizes research methods to support and advance ultrasound practice.
• Assists with the creation of protocols and data collection for new research projects.
• Evaluates functions and safety of sonography equipment.
• Seeks opportunities to further refine expertise in related technical skill by attending workshops and inservices. Keeps current on events in ultrasound.
• Participates in outside programs and community activities in order to represent the institution as appropriate.

Required Skills And Experience

• 3 – 5 years clinical experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine preferred
• Ability to perform complete gynecologic and obstetric scans with physician available for immediate review
• Ability to assist physicians in performing procedures, including CVS, amniocentesis, and sonohysterogram
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements (include License, Registration, Certification)

• Graduation from an ARMDS certified training program is required
• Must be ARDMS certified in Ob/Gyn
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred with evidence of continuing education.
