Job summary

Cancer Care Northwest in Spokane is seeking a highly motivated high-risk breast cancer ARNP to join our oncology team. This role focuses on identifying and managing patients at elevated hereditary cancer risk, collaborating with oncologists, breast surgeons, and radiologists.

Under supervision, the ARNP will provide direct care, education, and risk assessment, participate in tumor boards and research, and help develop surveillance plans while adhering to OSHA and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• DNP or MSN with NP training from accredited nursing school.
• ARNP/RN licensure and CGRA certification.
• Minimum 3 years of oncology or genetics experience.
• City of Hope training is preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for oncology and hereditary risk patients.
• Initiate and document appropriate interventions; prescribe therapies as indicated.
• Perform procedures with minimal supervision.
• Provide education and wellness resources to patients and families.
• Incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice.
• Ensure timely documentation and charge capture.
• Participate in case management, palliative care, and staff education.
• Conduct cancer genetic risk assessments for patients with personal or family history of cancer.
• Provide counseling on inheritance patterns, testing options, and implications for care.
• Interpret genetic test results and communicate findings to patients and care teams.
• Develop individualized surveillance and risk-reduction plans for high-risk breast patients.
• Participate in continuing education such as tumor boards, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives related to genetics and high-risk care.
• Maintain current knowledge of genetic guidelines (i.e. NCCN, ACMG) and integrate evidence-based genetics into practice, including variant reclassification and secondary findings.
• Support clinical research related to cancer genetics and hereditary syndromes.
