Job summary

Build People in Miami, FL seeks an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety across mid- and high-rise commercial construction sites in South Florida. You will work with project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to uphold OSHA standards and company safety policies.

Responsibilities include leading safety programs, conducting inspections, investigations, trainings, reviewing JHAs/AHAs, and coordinating with superintendents to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience with a General Contractor.
• Experience on mid-rise and/or high-rise commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
• OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or equivalent certifications are highly preferred.
• Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enforce all jobsite safety programs across assigned projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and company safety regulations.
• Conduct daily jobsite inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Perform incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, and ongoing safety training.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety plans.
• Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to proactively mitigate project risks.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with all safety requirements.
• Track safety metrics, inspections, audits, and incident reports.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and project records.
• Promote a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.
