Job summary

Heron Power Inc. is hiring a Hardware Validation Systems Developer in California to build automated test infrastructure for scalable high-voltage and high-power testing.

You’ll architect complete test cells integrating power hardware, instrumentation, control software, and data pipelines, guiding the end-to-end lifecycle from requirements to sustainment. You will drive test strategy, fixtures, and regression, while partnering with design and manufacturing to improve yield and throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
• Experience designing automated test setups for high-voltage/high-power systems.
• Strong fundamentals in circuits and instrumentation.
• Hands-on experience with scopes, DMMs, power supplies, DAQs, and CAN/Ethernet interfaces.
• Demonstrated ownership of a test system from concept through deployment.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and drive issues to closure.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver automated test cells for PCBA, subsystems, and full systems.
• Define test coverage, regression strategies, and pass/fail criteria.
• Develop high-power bi-directional testers and HV testables for PV/grid applications.
• Design fixtures, harnesses, and interface racks with robust instrumentation.
• Improve test observability, debug speed, and yield through continuous iteration.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to enable scalable production.
