Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Linux-focused systems administrator to support production infrastructure in Colorado.

The role requires hands-on Linux administration, HPC storage and networking experience, plus strong documentation and cross-team collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Linux experience (RHEL/CentOS) and production infrastructure support.
• Experience in system administration and technical support (install/config/maintenance/upgrade).
• Experience with HPC technologies including Lustre/GPFS, Infiniband/Omni-Path, and PBSPro/SLURM.
• Experience with Panasas/Vdura storage.
• Proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and drive improvements.
• Self-starter capable of spotting process improvements.
• Strong relationship-building with teams and SMEs.
• Security certification required.

Job description

Basic Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on Linux experience (e.g. RHEL, CentOS) and production infrastructure support (e.g. networking, storage, monitoring, compute, installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, retirement)
• Experience in system administration and technical support (e.g. installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, retirement, problem resolution)
• Experience in HPC technologies such as parallel/distributed files systems (e.g. Lustre, GPFS), high speed interconnect fabrics (e.g. Infiniband, Omni-Path), and HPC batch scheduling software suites (e.g. PBSPro, SLURM)
• Experience with Panasas/Vdura storage support
• Proficiency in technical writing and documentation of solutions
• Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across organization boundaries
• Self-starter with the ability to spot potential for process improvement
• Capable of building effective relationships with teams and subject matter experts
• Security + certification required

Desired Skills

• Strong IT skills in infrastructure, applications & hardening systems
• Experience in implementing changes and security controls in a global framework.
• Knowledge and experience with installing/compiling vendor and open-source software.
• Knowledge and experience with application/infrastructure deployment and support in one or more of the major cloud environments
• Experience with script writing, PowerShell, Ansible, Python or other automation/scripting too
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8/9
