Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer, C++ Simulations (Starlink), to lead the architecture and development of high-performance C++ vehicle dynamics simulations. You will own the design, optimization, and testing infrastructure, collaborating across engineering groups to model multi-body physics and hardware behaviors while delivering scalable simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years in software development; OR 4+ years in performant C++ or numerical simulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, refactors, and evolution of the core C++ vehicle dynamics simulator and testing infrastructure.
• Architect and improve high-performance Monte Carlo simulation infrastructure with parallelization.
• Develop new simulation features, models, and tooling for performance and extensibility.
• Own performance optimization, profiling, CI, and testing across the stack.
• Design and implement testing frameworks and visualization components for GNC development.
• Collaborate across teams to model multi-body physics and hardware behaviors with quality.
