Job summary

Citadel is seeking skilled C++ Software Engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance applications and platforms powering our investment process. You will work on low-latency, scalable systems across trading, data, and research infrastructures.

You will collaborate with engineers and investment professionals to craft efficient technical solutions, tackle complex performance challenges, and contribute to system architecture and developer tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• Expert-level C++ programming skills and production-quality software experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OS, and software design.
• Strong understanding of memory management, concurrency, multithreading, and performance optimization.
• Experience building high-performance, distributed, or large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance C++ applications and libraries.
• Build reliable and scalable systems supporting core investment workflows.
• Solve performance, latency, throughput, concurrency challenges.
• Collaborate with engineers and investment professionals to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop green-field systems and improve architecture and performance of existing platforms.
• Profile, optimize, and troubleshoot production systems.
• Support system architecture and developer tooling improvements.
• Own technology through its lifecycle from design to production.
