Withum is seeking a High Net Worth Tax Manager to lead tax engagements across numerous offices, including New Jersey and California. You will supervise staff, develop client relationships, and deliver strategic tax planning for sophisticated clients.

You will work with an integrated team of CPAs and industry leaders, driving accuracy, timely reporting, and quality client service while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the firm’s growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA license, JD or Masters of Science in Taxation required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a public accounting tax department with leadership of multiple engagements.
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with relationships.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills.

Job Description:

Withum's Tax Services Group is made up of a brilliant team of tax specialists that work to ensure tax reporting obligations are met in an accurate and timely manner and minimize or defer the payment of taxes. Their comprehensive understanding of international, US federal, state, and local regulations, counting our affiliation with HLB international, allows them to help develop economical tax strategies anywhere. Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services.

As a High Net Worth Tax Manager based out of our Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, San Diego, CA, Orange County, CA, Whippany, NJ, Princeton, NJ, East Brunswick, NJ, Red Bank, NJ or New York City office, you'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervise/mentor staff, and build/maintain relationships with clients.

How you'll spend your time:

• Reviewing individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns prepares by tax staff and/or seniors for accuracy
• Researching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax matters
• Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities
• Handling and resolving tax controversies
• Overseeing complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• CPA license, JD or Masters of Science in Taxation is required
• At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail
• Ability to travel as needed

The compensation range for this position varies by location. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications. Los Angeles ranges are from $150,000 - $200,000 annually
San Francisco ranges are from $135,000 - $170,000 annually

New Jersey ranges are from $95,000 - $185,000 annually

New York City ranges are from $110,000 - $165,000 annually

Orange County ranges are from $110,000 - $200,000 annually

San Diego Ranges are from $110,000 - $200,000 annually
