Job summary

Proximity Learning, Inc. is seeking an In-Person Tutor to deliver high-impact tutoring to students in grades 5–8 at Pennsauken Public Schools during the school day.

You will provide small-group instruction in either ELA or Math, not both, with a tutor-to-student ratio of up to 4:1, and adapt to students several grade levels behind. Availability between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades 5–8, preferably in ELA or Math instruction.
• Ability to work with students below grade level, including those with IEPs or multilingual learners.
• Strong classroom management and small-group instructional skills.
• Comfortable working in both push-in and pull-out instructional settings.
• Reliable, in-person availability during the school day at Pennsauken sites.
• Background check and district-required clearances as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small-group tutoring sessions in ELA or Math during the school day.
• Adapt instruction to meet students two or more grade levels below.
• Track progress toward grade-level proficiency and program goals.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align tutoring with instruction.
• Maintain a supportive, engaging learning environment for sessions.
• Communicate with program coordinators about student progress and concerns.
• Maintain attendance and performance data records.
