Job summary

Magna International in Sterling Heights, MI seeks a Hi-lo driver to support production by moving materials and finished goods efficiently on the plant floor.

You will ensure correct labeling, weigh containers, and maintain safety as per MIOSHA/EMS protocols, while participating in continuous improvement and maintaining excellent attendance.

Good communication, teamwork, bar-coding proficiency, and the ability to handle fast-paced environments are essential. OT may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Hi-lo driver in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow MIOSHA safety requirements and safety procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates creativity, initiative and problem solving.
• Team oriented work approach and ability to work with others in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep presses and work centers supplied with containers, parts, material and/or components; and remove containers as they are filled with work in process material, finished goods or scrap.
• Support production and eliminate unnecessary downtime as a priority for Hi-lo drivers.
• Verify material and product identification with part number and operation number.
• Weigh containers before placing product in final audit, work in process, or finished goods (if not standard pack).
• Identify nonconforming products entering the hold area with part number, quantity and defect description.
