Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team. You will diagnose faults, service and repair commercial vehicles, and prepare units for MOT inspections.

This hands-on role requires strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems, plus the ability to read wiring diagrams and work independently. We offer flexible, hybrid options where feasible and a commitment to development.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.

Responsibilities

Role: HGV Technician
Hours: 45 hours per week | between 07:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £59,384 pa DOE
We're looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team, carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on our specialist fleet. This is a hands‑on role where you'll use your technical expertise to diagnose faults, solve problems and deliver high‑quality work that keeps vehicles safe, compliant and on the road.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance (or equivalent)

It would be great if you also have

• Experience working on refuse collection vehicles or similar specialist vehicles
• Experience with electric vehicles
• IRTEC accreditation or manufacturer training
• HGV Class 2 licence
• Experience using workshop management systems
