The Tribal Heritage Building Manager is responsible for the daily operation, scheduling, and stewardship of the Tribal Longhouse. This position ensures the Longhouse is used in accordance with Tribal policies, cultural protocols, and community needs. The Manager coordinates ceremonial, educational, and community events; oversees scheduling and logistics; manages contractors and projects; and ensures proper documentation and preservation of cultural integrity.
This position has no supervisory duties.

High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree required and two years of experience in facilities management, event coordination, project management, or cultural programming; or satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requires intermediate computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets (i.e., Word for Windows, Excel, Access, etc.). Knowledge of Puyallup Tribal history, culture and language required.
Employee must demonstrate the ability to interact tactfully and positively with Tribal members, all levels of staff and management. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from staff and regulatory agencies. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to effectively present information to management, employees and groups of people.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral or written format.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to physically perform essential job tasks.
Must have and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of auto insurance; valid driver’s license must not contain any restrictions that would prohibit the employee’s use of a tribal vehicle.
Must pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions. Must be able to periodically pass criminal background check and must not have any felony convictions during employment.
