Responsibilities

• Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for appropriate assigned customer.
• Communicate clinical and scientific data to KOLs and healthcare professionals through presentations, educational programs, and scientific discussions.
• Serve as the primary resource to provide support for addressing unsolicited medical questions and other scientific exchange matters.
• Identify, gather, and document field generated scientific insights to drive innovative Medical Affairs strategies while complying with industry and corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain scientific and clinical knowledge base through continuous learning and awareness of related scientific literature to enable meaningful scientific exchange.
• Collaborate with field based Medical colleagues, appropriate Commercial colleagues, and the broader organization to provide scientific expertise and share Medical insights in support of internal and external activities.
• Leverage knowledge of standards of care and company/investigator sponsored clinical trials and competitor landscape to facilitate external-internal research communication.
• Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries of Health Care Providers (HCPs)/investigators/health care systems/academic medical centers and treatment team members integrating scientific data including real world evidence in to real life practice to meet customer needs.
• Deliver scientific presentations to formulary committees and other key healthcare decision makers (HCDMs), communicating the health economic model and supporting clinical data, and serve as the primary field-based resource to address questions related to these insights.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in health economic model design and effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner to diverse HCDM audiences.
• Maintain deep knowledge of cost-effectiveness models and budget impact models to support informed decision‑making and value discussions.

Requirements

Along with a results‑oriented mindset, self‑assurance, and an engaging manner, the ideal candidate has:

• MD, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, or equivalent degree (highly preferred)
• 2+ years of industry experience as a Medical Science Liaison (required)
• Clinical or related practical experiences in GI/Liver (preferred)
• Strong scientific & clinical acumen
• Ability to quickly understand & translate complex scientific data & realize the potential impact of that data on clinical practice & potential research needs
• Experience in Managed Care/PBM, HEOR activities, or strong knowledge of P&T committee processes
• Ability to travel up to 60%, overnights and weekends may be required, and possess a valid driver’s license to drive to assigned healthcare accounts (unless otherwise specified)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $200,000-$220,000. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
