Job Title: School Monitor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a responsible and approachable School Monitor to maintain a safe and orderly environment in the school’s hallways and common areas. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build positive relationships with students, and effective time management skills to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, assisting with class transitions, and ensuring compliance with school policies, while supporting teachers and administrators as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Student Engagement: Build rapport with students by being approachable, supportive, and attentive to their needs. Serve as a positive role model, offering guidance and encouragement.
  2. Monitoring: Ensure students follow school rules in hallways, common areas, and during transitions. Address inappropriate behavior calmly and authoritatively, reinforcing policies.
  3. Conflict Resolution: Mediate minor conflicts between students, providing a safe space for resolution and redirecting students to staff when necessary.
  4. Safety and Security: Monitor hallways to ensure safety, intervene when needed, and report concerns or incidents to administration.
  5. Time Management and Scheduling: Assist in managing student flow during class changes, assemblies, and lunch periods to maintain organization.
  6. Attendance Monitoring: Support enforcement of attendance policies by tracking tardiness and absences, reporting recurring issues.
  7. Collaboration: Work with teachers, counselors, and administrators to create a supportive environment. Communicate effectively to address students' needs.
  8. General Support: Assist staff during school events, drills, or emergencies, and perform administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with students.
