Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Part Time Hematologist/Oncologist in Santa Cruz, CA. The physician will join Dignity Health Medical Group – Dominican, providing expert hematology and oncology care in a CoC-accredited program at the Mary & Richard Solari Cancer Center.

The role offers a balanced schedule (3 days/week) with inpatient/outpatient responsibilities, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and an appealing coastal lifestyle in Santa Cruz.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in Hematology/Oncology
• Active or eligible California medical license
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver hematology and oncology care in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and navigators to support patient journeys
• Provide care in the Solari Infusion Center and participate in rounds as needed
• Contribute to the CoC-accredited program and survivorship care

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Part Time Hematologist/Oncologist - Santa Cruz, CA

As our Part Time Hematologist & Oncologist with Dignity Health Medical Group – Dominican, a physician-led, patient-centered organization in Santa Cruz, CA, you will play a vital role in providing expert hematology and oncology care within our established, high-performing oncology program at the Mary & Richard Solari Cancer Center. This role offers a balanced, consistent schedule of 3 days per week while allowing you to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a stunning coastal community where the redwoods meet the Pacific.

You will provide patient care within our Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accredited program, delivering expert hematology and oncology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. You will utilize the co-located Solari Infusion Center, featuring 15 private bays for modern treatment delivery. This role allows you to collaborate effectively with our multidisciplinary team, potentially participating in daily rounds for the 17-bed inpatient oncology unit as needed, and partnering with navigators and social workers to ensure a seamless patient journey from diagnosis through survivorship.

We are offering a competitive range of $350,000 - $369,000 annually for the part time position, medical and dental benefits (0.6 FTE and higher), productivity incentives and more!

Job Requirements

Required:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility inHematology/Oncolgy
• Active or eligible license in the state of California
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
