Job summary

Novant Health's Cancer Institute in Winston-Salem seeks a flexible Part-Time Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to support Medical Oncology and Classical Hematology across the Winston-Salem Comprehensive Cancer Center and regional Triad clinics.

The APP will provide outpatient care, perform assessments, develop treatment plans, order tests, and collaborate with oncologists, hematologists, nurses, pharmacists, and care teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current North Carolina NP or PA license (or eligibility).
• National certification as NP or PA.
• DEA registration (or eligibility).
• Oncology or hematology experience preferred; strong internal medicine or hospital medicine backgrounds encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient care for patients with general medical oncology and classical hematology.
• Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage oncologic and hematologic conditions.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing and laboratory results.
• Collaborate closely with medical oncologists, hematologists, nurses, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Participate in survivorship, symptom management, treatment monitoring, and supportive care.
• Provide occasional inpatient hospital coverage based on departmental needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record and patient safety.

Medical Oncology & Classical Hematology

The Cancer Institute is seeking a flexible, patient-centered Part-Time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our collaborative oncology team. This unique float position provides clinical support across both our Winston-Salem Comprehensive Cancer Center and regional satellite clinics throughout the Triad, including Thomasville, Greensboro, Kernersville, and Mt. Airy.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an APP who enjoys variety, autonomy, and teamwork while caring for patients across the continuum of cancer care. The position primarily supports outpatient medical oncology and classical hematology practices, with occasional inpatient hospital coverage as operational needs arise.

What You'll Do

• Participate in survivorship, symptom management, treatment monitoring, and supportive care.
• Provide occasional inpatient hospital coverage based on departmental needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care while maintaining high patient satisfaction.
