Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking an experienced oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Manchester, NH clinic. You will provide comprehensive, patient-centered oncology care in collaboration with the Dartmouth Cancer Center and Geisel School of Medicine.

Ideal candidates include APRNs/PA with oncology experience or new grads with oncology RN background. Strong communication, autonomous practice, and collaboration are essential components of this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program.
• National specialty certification as FNP, PNP, Acute or Primary Care A-GNP, WHNP or NCCPA certification.
• Eligible for RN licensure in NH (APRN only).
• Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in NH.
• Eligible for Federal DEA Registration.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care from diagnosis through end-of-life, including management of therapy side effects.
• Coordinate care with clinic nurses and provider staff; triage patient calls.
• Participate in tumor boards, meetings, research and quality improvement.
• Engage in education and professional development of fellows, residents and students.
• Attend required conferences and committees as requested.
• Contribute to clinical research and follow-up assessments per protocol.

Overview

The Dartmouth Cancer Centerat Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seek an experienced oncologyNurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto work collaboratively to provide high quality, compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care through theSection of Medical Oncology in our Manchester, New Hampshire clinic.

What we are seeking:

An experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant with experience in oncology, or a new graduate with experience as an oncology RN.

A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

An autonomous advanced practice provider with clinical expertise and organizational skills who enjoys working in a generalist role with a wide variety of cancer patients.

Responsibilities

Provide care to individuals and their families from diagnosis through end-of-life including identification and treatment of acute and late effects of therapy. Performs procedures as required for patient assessment.

Work closely with the clinic nurses and provider staff assisting in coordination of care for patients under treatment and management of acute therapy side effects. Works with clinic nursing staff to triage patient telephone calls and provide recommendations.

Fully integrate into section functions including multidisciplinary case conferences [tumor boards], faculty meetings, research and quality improvement projects when applicable.

Actively participate in the Advanced Practice Provider team of the Dartmouth Cancer Center through attendance of monthly team meetings, journal club, biannual peer review process and annual retreat as appropriate.

Prepares for, participates in and attends required conferences, meetings and committees as requested.

Participates in clinical research, relevant to the medical oncology patient population, providing clinical care and follow-up assessments as required by protocol.

Participates in the education and professional development of fellows, residents, nurses, medical students and other health care providers as appropriate.

Qualifications
