CHI Health in Omaha, NE, invites an academic Hematology-Oncology physician to join the Henry Lynch Cancer Center affiliated with Creighton University Medical Center. The role combines patient care, teaching, and clinical research within a large multispecialty system.

Board-certified in Hematology-Oncology, you will participate in tumor boards, lead clinical trials, mentor residents, and collaborate across surgical, radiation, and medical oncology services.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Hematology-Oncology.
  • Active or eligible license in Nebraska.
  • Strong clinical skills and collaboration in a multispecialty system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Educate Creighton University residents and medical students in an academic setting.
  • Lead and participate in clinical trials with opportunities for collaboration with scientists.
  • Participate in CHI-wide tumor boards and cancer center leadership activities.
  • Collaborate across Radiation Oncology, Pulmonary Medicine, Breast Center, Surgical Oncology and Orthopaedic Sarcoma programs.
  • Support AI-assisted cancer screening initiatives.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our clinical faculty Hematology Oncologist, you will play in intregal part in the expansionof our clinical, research, and educational activities within our Department of Medicine in partnership with The Henry Lynch Cancer Center at Creighton University Medical Center.

Every day, you will provide compassionate and expert care in a high volume system with broad referral networks in partnership with Radiation Oncology, Pulmonary Medicine, our Breast Center of Excellence, Surgical Oncology and Orthopaedic Sarcoma programs. This unique opportunity is positioned participate in clinical research trials within the school of medicine, and to assist in cancer center leadership.

To be successful in this role, you will be board certified in Hematology/Oncology, provide compassionate and expert care in collaborationwith our integrated, multispecialty system, working with every member in subspecialty surgery, committed to the highest outcome of every procedure we perform. In addition, our program is further augmented by our many other resources associated with our academic institution, including our institute of population health, biomedical and cancer research.

  • Working in an academic and teaching environment educating Creighton University’s residents and medical students and conducting research in collaboration with scientists within Common Spirit and Creighton University School of Medicine.
  • The position will be resourced for scholarly endeavors including clinical trials & opportunities for collaboration with basic and translational scientists at the Creighton Henry Lynch Cancer Center
  • Reporting to the Chair of Medicine at Creighton University and CHI Health
  • Participate the CHI wide Tumor Boards

Job Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine & Hematology Oncology
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in programmaticdevelopment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
