Job summary

Magnolia Plumbing, LLC is looking for a Utilities Helper to support the Utilities Department in the DC metropolitan area. The role requires at least 2 years of construction experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work outdoors in variable weather.

You will assist with underground utility installations, flagging, and site cleanup, while learning new trades and advancing within the utility field. A dependable team player with reliable transportation is desired.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of construction experience preferred.
• Commitment to workplace and jobsite safety.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to pass a Flagger written test; training will be provided.
• Ability to work in confined spaces as required, following applicable training and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist foremen and tradesmen with daily underground utility work.
• Assist with underground piping and sewer installations.
• Dig ditches, trenches, and manholes as directed.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment.
• Assist with jobsite cleanup, demolition, and restoration.
• Shovel wet material and remove debris as needed.
• Perform flagging duties as directed.
• Assist with confined space work when trained and authorized.
• Follow instructions from foremen and tradesmen.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures.
