Job summary

Inovar Packaging Group LLC, Cimarron Label, an IPG Company in Sioux Falls, SD, is hiring a Press Assistant. The role is full-time with a night-shift pattern (Mon-Wed 4:30pm-6:00am).

You will mount plates, mix inks, manage dies, and maintain press area cleanliness while supporting finishing and stockroom tasks. Qualifications

• Education requirement: high school diploma or GED.
• Strong math and measurement abilities.
• Familiarity with inventory/manufacturing software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mount printing plates for orders.
• Pull and file plate files.
• Mix inks according to specifications.
• Retrieve dies and return to shelves.
• Wash ink trays and related equipment.
• Keep press areas clean and organized; empty trash.
• Maintain monthly inventory and supplies.
• Assist with press operations and setup.
• Move product to finishing as needed.
• Complete daily time sheets.
• Operate anilox cleaning process per SOPs.
• Follow GMPs and safety rules.
• Back-up press operators when required.
• Adhere to company policies and work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mount printing plates for upcoming orders.
• Pull and file plate files accurately.
• Mix inks according to job specifications.
• Pull dies for upcoming jobs and return them to shelves when done.
• Wash all ink trays, splashguards, and overflow pans.
• Ensure press areas are clean and organized, empty trash from production, screen print, finishing, and stockroom areas.
• Maintain an adequate supply of consumables and complete monthly inventory.
• Assist with press operations, sheeted jobs, major cleanups, and press setup.
• Move product to finishing as needed.
• Complete daily time sheets indicating time spent on each task.
• Clean aniloxes using the anilox cleaning machine.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to job functions and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Backup press operators as needed.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Math Skills: Ability to measure items, work with fractions, and file numerically.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of inventory and manufacturing software is preferred.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color recognition, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level is typically moderate.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and multitask.
