Job summary

Chartwells School Dining Services K12 is hiring a part-time Helper Cook for Marinette School District in Wisconsin. Ideal for candidates with prior cooking experience, this role involves food preparation and customer interaction from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Read the menu to estimate food requirements and order food from suppliers.
• Prepare and cook food according to company production records and recipes.
• Adjust thermostat controls for temperature regulation.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Bake, roast, broil, and steam foods under guidance.
• Test food for cooking readiness.
• Carve meat and portion food for serving.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables.
• Butcher chicken, fish, and shellfish as directed.
• Maintain work area and equipment; follow sanitation principles.
• Interact with customers and coworkers courteously.
• Ensure compliance with company service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for a part‑time HELPER COOK position at Marinette School District, 2139 Pierce Avenue, Marinette, WI 54143. The position is part‑time: days may vary, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Online applications only.

Fixed Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour. Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available.

Requirement: Prior cooking experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read the menu to estimate food requirements and order food from suppliers or retrieve it from storage.
• Prepare and cook food according to company production records and standardized recipes.
• Adjust thermostat controls to regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods under guidance; add seasoning during mixing or cooking under instruction of others.
• Test food by tasting, smelling, and piercing to determine that it is cooked.
• Carve meat, portion food onto serving plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes to fill orders as directed.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables.
• Butcher chicken, fish, and shellfish as directed.
• Bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastry as the course of instruction permits.
• Maintain the work area and equipment; follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Interact with customers and coworkers in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash‑control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
