Unidine is hiring immediately for a full time and part time Helper Cook position at Fay J Linder Assisted Living in Commack, NY. Shift options include 11:30 pm - 7:30 am or 6:30 am - 2:30 pm, with 1 year of prior cooking experience required.

Pay ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. This role supports the culinary team in preparing meals, maintaining safety standards, and delivering quality service to residents.

Qualifications

• 1 year of prior cooking experience required.

Responsibilities

• Reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders ingredients.
• Prepares and cooks food according to recipes and production records.
• Adjusts oven, broiler, grill, roaster, and steam kettle temperatures.
• Measures and mixes ingredients with kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Cooks meats, fish, vegetables and other foods; adds seasoning as directed.
• Tests food by tasting and checking for doneness.
• Carves meat and portions food; adds gravies and garnishes.
• Keeps work area and equipment clean; follows sanitation and safety rules.
• Interacts with customers and coworkers in a courteous, friendly manner.
• Ensures compliance with service standards and cash control procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
