The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly‑talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA‑affiliated research institute. These one- to three‑year fellowships advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
This is a general opportunity for a candidate fellow studying energetic particles (neutral or charged) in the heliosphere. The candidate fellow will work independently in consultation with an advisory group on topics including shock acceleration, turbulent heating of charged particles in the solar wind, relativistic electrons in the magnetosphere, the interstellar boundary region, origins of anomalous cosmic rays, Solar Energetic Particles, and impacts of energetic particles on human exploration. Studies can involve data analysis, theory, simulation, and instrument development.
