Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I for the LUH-72 A&P program in California. The role involves maintaining helicopters, removing/installing subsystems, conducting inspections, and assisting with troubleshooting using required tools.

Ideal candidates hold an FAA A&P certificate, have 3+ years aviation maintenance experience (2 years rotary wing), and can work day, swing, or night shifts as needed. Travel and PPE compliance are part of the job.

Qualifications

Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
FAA A&P certification and FAA requirements must be met.
Three years aviation maintenance experience; two years rotary wing experience; two years on the assigned MDS within last six years.
Must have valid driver''s license and be able to travel internationally.
Must be able to work any shift as assigned by union and perform basic tool shadowing.

Responsibilities

Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies (engines, rotors, gearboxes).
Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
Prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
Performs scheduled inspections and assists in special inspections.
Notes and records maintenance in forms/logs.
Uses tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
Adheres to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
