Training & Base Locations

We are currently hiring for three key locations: Newark, New Jersey; Chicago, Illinois; Dulles, Virginia. After completing our 6.5‑week Initial Training in Houston, Texas, you will be assigned to a hub or another flight attendant base location across our network. Training covers safety and service standards, accommodations, and includes a weekly stipend of $140 and a $1,000 bonus upon graduation.

What You Bring to the Table – Essential Qualifications
  • Age: At least 21 years old at the time of application.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in customer service, hospitality, retail, teaching, aviation, or a related field.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Hebrew (written and spoken).
  • Passport: Valid passport book with at least 12 months of remaining validity and two consecutive blank pages.
  • Legal Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Physical and Personal Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, and reach for extended periods; lift heavy objects up to 250 lbs; sit in a jump seat with seatbelt; pass functional reach assessment (76‑inch vertical, 43.5‑inch horizontal); professional appearance, grooming, and uniform guidelines compliance.
  • Communication and Sensory Requirements: Clear, concise speech loud enough to be heard in an emergency; hearing and vision standards per FAA.
  • Travel Eligibility: Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions; must pass a 10‑year background check with no prohibited travel restrictions.
  • Pre‑Employment Requirements: Pass DOT/FAA pre‑employment and randomized drug screen; comprehensive background check, fingerprinting, vision and hearing tests; successful completion of a water evacuation drill.
