Job summary

Ten Mile in Washington, PA seeks a skilled Shop Mechanic to maintain, repair and troubleshoot a variety of trucks and trailers for optimal performance and safety.

Expect to work 45 hours+ per week with some Saturday mornings. Starting at $26/hour for entry level up to $32/hour for experienced mechanics. Mechanics must provide their own toolbox and tools; Cummins engine experience is a plus; CDL not required but highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle, trailer and heavy truck maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a DOT card.
• Willing to work holidays and weekends, and overtime when required.
• Wear PPE in designated operations and production areas.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance for all assigned vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Operate diagnostic instruments and a range of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
• Test, service and repair vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and related parts.
• Repair brake, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, ignition, air, exhaust, axle, steering, HVAC, suspension assemblies, and related systems.
• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment/vehicles and schedule needed repairs.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly for proper performance.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment, trailers and vehicles.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
• Provide emergency field assistance.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles, trailers and heavy trucks.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
