Job summary

Tessera is seeking a Heavy Truck Driver based in Lakewood, WA to operate tanker trucks for portable latrines and related services on JBLM. This full-time, day-shift role requires a CDL Class A with a Tanker endorsement, ability to read military grid coordinates, and strict adherence to DOT safety standards.

Responsibilities include delivering and servicing portable latrines, maintaining logs, inspecting vehicles, and providing reliable on-site customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous sanitation or heavy truck driving experience preferred.
• Ability to read military maps using military grid coordinates.
• Working knowledge of JBLM preferred.
• Must be able to follow directions and help organize routes.

Responsibilities

• Drive a tanker truck to designated locations using grid coordinates on a map to set up, deliver, pick up, and pump portable latrines, sinks, and vault latrines.
• Clean and service portable latrines and replenish supplies (e.g., toilet paper, soap, paper towels, cleaners) as needed.
• Sanitize/clean portable sinks, latrines, and vault latrines inside and outside; pump effluent from portable latrines into the truck holding tank as required.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance logs and perform minor maintenance on the assigned truck.
• Maintain portable latrine and sink service logs and perform light maintenance on portable latrines as needed.
• Properly dispose of effluent from the truck holding tank at designated disposal locations.
• Inspect the vehicle before use and notify a Mechanic or Supervisor of any necessary repairs or service.
• Provide effective and efficient customer service while ensuring compliance with government standards and customer satisfaction.

Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Wage: $26.95/hr

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted.
• A valid CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by the company’s insurance.
• A Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required. Candidates must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position.
• Per Governor Inslee's Proclamation 21-14, employees must be fully vaccinated no later than a specified date. Vaccine status will be verified at New Employee Orientation. Medical or religious accommodation may be available once an offer is made.
