Job summary

United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Mechanical at the Minntac Facility in Northern Minnesota. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing a broad range of mechanical systems to ensure continuous operations in a heavy industrial setting.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of manufacturing/industrial experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year manufacturing and/or industrial experience (including relevant experience gained in military service) or equivalent education.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Rotating shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
• Overtime work as needed.
• Must wear safety gear and follow safety procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment such as hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, power transmission systems, conveyors, cranes, and mobile equipment.
• Provide assistance in operating functions as necessary.
• Possibly work at heights and/or in confined spaces.
• Work independently or with other maintenance technicians.
• Operate in areas with varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, noisy).
