Role Description The Heavy Haul Brokerage Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Oak Creek, WI. This role is responsible for coordinating heavy haul and over-dimensional freight moves, including sourcing and negotiating with carriers, securing appropriate equipment, and ensuring compliance with all permitting and safety requirements. The specialist will manage load planning, track and trace shipments, and proactively communicate status updates to clients and internal teams. Daily activities include preparing rate quotes, reviewing contracts, maintaining accurate documentation in the transportation management system, and resolving service issues or delays. The role also involves building strong relationships with carriers and customers, analyzing costs to optimize margins, and collaborating with operations and sales to support growth in the heavy haul segment.

• Heavy haul, over-dimensional, or specialized freight experience, including familiarity with equipment types (e.g., lowboys, step decks, multi-axle trailers) and route planning.
• Strong logistics, transportation, and brokerage skills, including carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and load tendering.
• Knowledge of permitting, regulatory compliance, and safety requirements related to heavy haul transportation.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), common office software, and basic data entry and documentation practices.
• Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to provide clear updates, manage expectations, and build long-term relationships.
• Solid organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing service disruptions, cost control, and route or equipment challenges.
• Prior experience in freight brokerage, trucking, or logistics operations; heavy haul brokerage experience strongly preferred.
